As a Wellbeing Coach it is my job to listen, support, help you plan and keep you accountable, to the wellbeing goals you set. The person that has to do the actual work is you!
You might be wondering right now why have a wellbeing coach when you have to do most of the work? The simplest answer I can give you is that we repeatedly break promises to ourselves, but when we have someone whos going to keep us accountable we are more likely to follow through. A wellbeing coach is not someone who fixes every problem and has all the answers, we support the self-learning process by helping you.
All coaches will ask questions like the following ones. This can help you think about yourselves and those aspects that are most important to you:
- What do you think are your three greatest strengths/values? (You may or may not be aware of the answer to this question, but it can trigger your thinking process). If your unsure ask close friends and family what they think, you might be very surprised by there answers
-

- Tell me about three challenges in your life and how you overcame them. (This may help you identify your core strengths/values)
- Tell me about some unusual skills that you have. (This question reinforces different ways of looking at yourself)
- On what do you often get complimented?
- What do you love doing?
Through asking questions and listening to your answers it helps develop a picture of the areas you need help with and some tools I will need to give you to help you achieve your wellbeing goals. It is a process that focuses on the discovery of your goals and is based on a holistic approach that involves planning and action in several areas of your life. People need guidance in the form of life coaching when they need to resolve confusion, allay self-doubt, make decisions and pave the path towards the realisation of their dreams and goals.
There is some confusion around the differences between wellbeing coaching and counselling. A counsellor or therapist, is a qualified individual who offers treatment. On the other hand, wellbeing coaches offer emotional support and motivate, help their clients to identify and make the correct choices. There may be a slight overlap between the objectives of counselling and wellbeing coaching in that they both help to bring about positive changes in an individual's life and increase self-awareness.
How I will support you:
-
- Help you identify and uphold your values
-
- Listen to your concerns and challenges, and act as a non-judgemental sounding board for your ideas
-
- Provide empowering emotional and motivational support, especially during crucial decision-making phases and times of opportunities
-
- Help you identify and eliminate limiting beliefs
-
- Help you form a clearer and more realistic vision of your future.
-
- Work with you, to formulate an action plan, and motivate you to stay committed to your progress towards their goals
You do most of the leg work,
I will provide the framework,
support and accountability
to keep you on track.
